PARTS INFORMATION Obtain and confirm the part numbers for your specific vehicle by entering the chassis number in ETK whichtakes into account specific equipment and/or options. Additional parts like gaskets, hardware and chemicals may be required for the complete repair. It was reported that the steering may have become blocked, and that the rider was not able to control the motorcycle which resulted in a crash. An immediate analysis was initiated. The analysis indicated that the steering had become blocked as a result of a horn which had become partially detached from the motorcycle. The analysis also indicated that the mounting hardware for the horn on the subject motorcycle may not have been appropriate. Further evaluations of engineering drawings and specifications determined that the mounting hardware for similarly produced models may not have been appropriate. On September 1, 2022, BMW decided to conduct a voluntary safety recall. BMW has not received any reports, nor is BMW otherwise aware, of any further accidents or injuries associated with this issue.
