Situation A small number of Rolls-Royce Phantom (RRll) vehicles have been identified as having an issue with the front headlights. Due to a supplier production error, a specific part of the headlight combination unit did not receive a metal coating during manufacturing process. As a result, the upper road sign illumination aspect of the low beam does not fully meet legislation requirements in certain markets. Vehicles identified within this campaign will need front headlights replaced. Dealers should check for vehicles which are subject to this Technical Campaign using ISPA (Integrated Service Processes Application) or S-Gate/ Al R. 2. Procedure Replace both front headlights as per ISTA/AIR repair instructions below: 63 12 021 – Remove and install both headlights. 6312 616 – Replacing both LED headlights (LED headlight laser) (headlight removed). Please note the following additional points when removing the Illuminated grill: Prior to removing the grill, the air guide fixings need to be removed. Initial information suggested that a supplier production process issue may have occurred which could affect certain aspects of headlamp illumination. An engineering review was initiated. Reviews of supplier documentation and test results were conducted. A review of headlamp regulatory requirements including FMVSS 108 was performed. Preliminary information suggested that a possible noncompliance might exist. Further reviews and assessments were conducted. Vehicle assembly information and supplier production records were reviewed to determine the number and production dates of potentially affected vehicles. On September 21, 2022, Rolls-Royce decided to conduct a voluntary non-compliance recall. Rolls-Royce has not received any reports, nor is Rolls-Royce otherwise aware, of any accidents or injuries that may be related to this issue.
